The stalls area of Dratia, full of different smells and sounds, music, lights and at the end of the stalls lining the street, are the steps up to the shrine they've kept in such good condition for this very occassion Darkness.
The shrine has rather lavish displays, both what are believed to be ancient relics and performances of theatre and dance, music within is fitting for the occassion too and kimono and yukata along with costumes and other such things are sold around the area for those who'd like them.
The bridges leading to the street with so many stalls are lined with lanterns and festival decorations. Though the bridges are so wide they can fit plenty of people and even some small festival games like apple bobbing or catching goldfish from a barrel to keep as pets.
With these games the bridges are usually full of life at festival time but almost all the winning people get something that is supposed to be symbolic of this type of festival, a spooky mask, a plush toy of a shinobi or monster, a painting for your home that has what someone imagines darkness to be as or even something as simple as a giant bag of sweets that are simply shaped as ghouls and ghosts. Plenty of toys, plenty of things for both adults and children alike and of course there's plenty of music and laughter at this time of year.

So this was it, she'd come all this way to the edge of the bridge to meet him, and was even wearing a >>kimono<< that was long enough to drop to her ankles, her hair was styled up in a bun at the back, make up was applied to add a little more of a traditional feel to her garb and she had a large flower ornament in the side of her hair. She looked as if she belonged here. Then again she did, brushing some hair out of her face she looked off to the water and she shifted uneasily. The lights reflections looked nice.
The problem was that Huang wasn't there yet, and so she was waiting, he'd be here soon, wouldn't he?
A red flower rested in her hands and she twirled it slowly as she stood there in silence till eventually she'd stand back and look up at the moon high in the sky. A small but gentle smile crossing her face as she stood there, something that wasn't really a common thing and then she heard voices. Two of the soldiers from the royal palace saw her.
'Oi oi isn't that Juri of the Four Saints?' One of them commented.
'Woah, she scrubs up nice huh? And look at that she's smiling too...'
'Think we should go and speak to her?'
'Um no, she's obviously waiting for someone, but damn, she looks good tonight, lucky person whoever it is that's able to have someone that looks like that and fights like a possessed demon on their arm.' The two chuckled before casting Juri a wave, so she waved back, at least they were respectful enough to leave her be, the curiosity was probably what made them want to chat to her, but at least they were able to gather she was indeed waiting for someone.

It took him a while to get into the clothes his father gave him. Traditional festival clothing he said and here he looked like a prince and yet he didn't mind because he had been meeting up with Juri for the night. His father had given him the outfit because it was what he had worn to court his mother on this same night saying it brought good luck to him, and so far all it did was cost him time to get to his destination. Huang had to make sure the damn thing had fit him perfectly since his father was about his size during his youth yet his father didn't have the physique the son had now it was still nice to look...well like this. He had doubts at first but after seeing himself in it fully, he smiled knowing that it might have made her night. For once he had allowed his hair to swing free instead of leaving it in a ponytail though once he looked at it he quickly tied it back up and dashed out of the house.
The streets were no doubt packed with people for the festival, the ninja knowing this decided to take to the rooftops moving quickly without messing up the clothing he had been wearing knowing that his father would kill him if he did...even if he already was. From rooftop to rooftop he planned his path carefully until he could see the bridge in the distance,"Hope i'm not making her wait to long...never good to keep a cute lady waiting after all." With stride he landed not far from the bridge walking the rest of the distance to make sure she would see him coming. In his mind he wondered what she would have been wearing, a nice Kimono? Would she have even dressed up for this, he had been hoping though whatever she had chosen was fine with him.
At long last he had stepped into the light of the moon on the bridge, his trademark smile hitting his face as he spoke," Sorry it took me so long Juri...and might I add that you look beautiful on this day," his eyes looking her over as he began to step closer to her and offering her a bow, a suggestion his own father gave him. He couldn't help but think how amazing she had looked, knowing how she looked while on the job and now this? He was truly a lucky man in this world.

She saw something out of the corner of her eye, and so slowly her head turned. It must've beena a trick of the light or something, because she didn't see Huang, instead she just saw other faces and slowly she turned back to the water, twirling her flower in her hands. Her head tilted slightly and she relaxed her shoulders, of course she didn't have a sword with her tonight... It was strange for her not to have a sword, instead she had two small short blade daggers under her kimono, well hidden and ready in case she needed them.
"Sorry it took me so long Juri..." Her head turned now and she offered a small smile, he looked good in that.
"-and might I add that you look beautiful on this day," She let her smile widen and she shrugged.
"It is festival season, so I felt if we were going to do this... We may as well do it right... Never been on a date before..." A light pink flooded her cheeks and she looked down at the flower in her hands. It was true. She never had given herself the time to even think about a date. Yet here she was now on such a thing and she just had to wonder what they were going to do. Slowly she took the flower and she tossed it in to the water. Then she watched it float away.
"So what're we doing first?... Simply going for a walk or playing some of the festival games?" She asked as she stood there and she rocked on her heels a little bit. Nervous? No, anxious about how the night would end? Very much so. So long as she didn't mess anything up and Huang didn't act like a complete and utter moron all should be well... Right?

"It is festival season, so I felt if we were going to do this... We may as well do it right... Never been on a date before...","
He could only smile as he nodded and settled his hands into his sleeves reaching around for something as he speaks," Hope you will go on many more with me Juri. Oh! I have something for you as well, thought it would be something nice for you to wear even after the festival was over," what he pulled out was a simple black box, maybe a few inches long yet what was inside of it was the real prize. Inside of it was a necklace that had a few nice gems on it, the necklace itself was passed down through the family, but he had someone to give it to now.
If she had allowed him to he would put it on her slowly before giving her a quick look over and smiling," Perfect knew it would look good on you. What do you think of it though?," with the music of the festival starting around them he had to act quickly and make a plan. Knowing how the festival ran he would think on it for a moment before nodding," I have the perfect idea. How about we go play some of the games a bit, eat some of the food and then take a nice stroll. Though is there anything you would like to do?," for once he didn't want to mess things up by being stupid...His first date with Juri and he wanted it to go right.

A fesitval--Kade had never been to one before, and the sheer warmth made her feel like she was in another place entirely. The squirrel could only stare in awe at everything as she walked along, wearing a rental yukata. The light pink material fit her, the child's size just right compared to the woman's that would drag along the ground. It would make her flush if anyone who knew her age saw her wearing something for a young child, but most overlooked the small statured woman in favor of what was going on, and for that she was thankful.
Placing money on the counter of a stand, she took a candy apple one a stick and bit into it. "How nice..." Maybe I should take something back as a souvenir... Her tail twitched excitedly and she ducked around, maneuvering the crowd of elbows and bodies. Like a school of fish, the crowd moved forward in the current and she followed it eagerly, playing hide and seek with the shimmering lights above. It was a fun game, stepping in and out of the shadows as she cut between stalls and over bridges. Skidding to a slow stop, she poked her head over a bridges railing and looked into the midnight water, lit up by paper lanterns that hung from the side and floated in small boats along the flow.
She walked the rest of the length of the bridge and sat at the rivers edge, watching the waters as she took a small breather. The night was hardly over and Kade was on a mission to seek out the best stalls with prices that wouldn't kill her measly amount of gil in her purse.

" Hope you will go on many more with me Juri. Oh! I have something for you as well, thought it would be something nice for you to wear even after the festival was over," She blinked and she tilted her head to one side, he wanted to give her something? She eyed the box and then she watched as he opened it, a necklace and a very pretty one at that, why on Oephus was he giving her something that seemed to be so valuable. She would accept it though, it would be rude not to at this point and slowly she would move her hair to show her neck almost the only part of skin that was shown. Once the necklace was on she would let go of her hair and allow it to fall back in to its usual style.
" Perfect knew it would look good on you. What do you think of it though?,"
"It's nice... You didn't have too though... But... Thank you..." It was certainly strange for her, she wasn't used to the affection. Just battle but this wasn't an unwelcome change. No, it was the contrary she liked how this was going.
"I have the perfect idea. How about we go play some of the games a bit, eat some of the food and then take a nice stroll. Though is there anything you would like to do?" She smiled and chuckled a little.
"Playing games sounds good, food does too and perhaps after that we could see a performance at one of the shrines? I never do have the time to do that... So it'd be nice to be able to watch a little of my culture on stage for once... After that fireworks and our stroll, we could probably watch them as we walk..." She explained and she smiled the whole time, something that she didn't do very often was becoming more and more of a thing for her to do. Perhaps it was just the fact she was free in a sense, or perhaps it was the fact that when she was with Wei she felt... Whole. It was like a yin yang really, they complimented each other very well and when together like this? There was nothing but peace and the two worked well in tandem even in battle.

Happiness was the only thing he could think of to explain how he felt at the moment. After giving her the necklace and making the plans he offered Juri his arm so that they might begin their night. If she had taken it, he would walk at an even pace to keep up with her as he kept his usual derpy smile about. It was rare to see Juri smiling this much and yet it was a sight that he couldn't help but want to keep forever. Tonight was a night she deserved to have fun and be free as she possibly could and tonight it was his mission to make it so.
The first place he would stop would be the goldfish stall, a classic game though a bit rigged if you didn't have the right touch in order to catch the goldfish. He could already see a few people playing it and failing, their paper catchers ripping because of their thin make and the fish flopping around. A smile formed on his face as he paid some gil to take a crack at it, his eyes looking into the water at the goldfish waiting for one to move about before catching it. He had played this game as a kid for training which his father insisted on. Because of that he was relatively good at the game but that didn't stop him from failing every once in a while. At a moments notice once he had saw his prey, his dipped the tool into the water flicking the fish up slightly and catching it on the edge instead of the middle.

An arm was offered and she slowly took it. There was no going back now. Not in the slightest, but that was all right, it was fine because all of this was perfect. It was almost absolutely perfect actually. Though as she looked at him she half giggled and had to hide a smile at the fact he was back to his usual way already. That derpy grin on his face as if nothing could go wrong. Even if she knew there was more to him than that, it still never lost it's amusement or annoyance when in the wrong situation.
Eventually they came to a stop, a goldfish stall and sadly Juri had no clue what or how to play this game, the reasoning was very simple. She'd never been allowed to play -silly- games, no her life had revolved around training and keeping the Emperor safe. That was her life. Nothing more. Yet here she was, watching as Wei played the game.
"How do you... Play these games? I just realized I have no clue where to start or what to do...." She mused quietly beside Wei, she wasn't sure what to do or say and honestly, she felt a little awkward because this should be something she knew, yet... She didn't.
"It looks difficult... What's the trick?" She was curious, and while she was happy, she'd be happier if she could actually play these games with Wei.
"So... Wei, are your parents around? I know mine aren't, my father would never come out here... He thinks these things are stupid and full of idiots... though I suppose that makes me an idiot... But..... I don't rightly care I guess... I'm happy. So I'll be happy and an idiot tonight, rather than miserable and smart." Smiling a bit she stood now silent. Not another word was uttered as her gaze shifted amongst the people around them.
