The Serket (Sir-ket) Tradepost is simply a very small collection of houses, an inn and a few shops. Everyone here knows one another, and there's a large shrine up a small hill where they show respect and thanks to the patron Deity of Life and Death. The people here understand well the cycle of life, they've seen many things befall this world and yet despite the hardships the tradepost has faced, it has managed to survive and the people thank the deity of life and death for this. For without Life and Death, life could not continue to move forward, the trade post wouldn't have survived this long without new faces and the births of new people. It couldn't survive either with the continuous old minds who are stuck in their ways.
So they are thankful for the cycle of rebirth.
All travelers are welcome here, even if they're jut passing through and don't buy anything. The tradepost makes enough gil that they can afford the kindness they give to strangers, such as a nights rest, a hot meal, a bath and something to drink. After the first night people are expected to pay their way.
