Hauria (Haw-ri-ah) Mines are a place that is shrouded in mystery. The Elves in the nearest city believe that the humans who lived here were punished for disrupting the way that the wilderness was supposed to be, for destroying parts of the forest, for looting the ground of its valuables.
The reason they believe this is because one day? Humans had vanished from the mines.
The mines are still in working order, some of the machines are still digging.
But there's no one there to keep them in good working order. Eventually they will stop working, eventually the mines will fall apart.
Some believe the humans offered the things they looted to a beast that lurks beneath the earth, a primal being from before even the age of the Gods. Perhaps it devoured the humans but if that were the case, their bones would be found somewhere. yet there's no trace of them. Nothing left. Only what machinery, machinery that the elves cannot work, was left behind.
