SnoweHolme is a place that should've been like Meia looks wise, but over time this place has become run down. The people here keep to themselves out of sheer fear of what the residents of Meia might do to them if they associate with outsiders or even start to make their village rival Meia.
The reason these people even allow their buildings to stay this way and do not welcome outsiders is simply because they have indeed had people kidnapped by the Meian people. They've even had the village raided before by Meians who weren't pleased. Fear. Fear is what dictates what these people do with their lives.
If you happen to be one of the unlucky residents of Snoweholme, you'd be considered blessed to see your fortieth birthday, most don't even make it a year due to the sheer colds. Women and men have committed suicide because of their childrens deaths and there's barely any shops. Everyone here seems to be depressed but they won't move from their village out of fear of not making it to the next place, most of the residents don't even have enough gil to hire people to help guard them on their travels either.
Snoweholme is a very poor village but they make do with what they have.
