The Sunken city wasn't exactly Sunken, it was simply built underwater, by the creatures that choose not to really mingle with other cultures or species. They instead chose to live here, the Melichthys Populo, or Tigerfish People (shortened often to Melich) are a species full of mermaids and mermen. They have dolphin type fish as mounts and also have Selkies that are part of the community.
The species do sometimes, come to beaches around the world to relax and have fun, however, for the most part, they will stay here and flee whenever they see humans or any other people. If people go exploring the sunken city, they'll be welcomed though warily and will be watched the whole time they're there.
The Sunken City is a very peaceful place, and one can sometimes hear if they venture in to the depths around here, a chior of sorts, the mermaids and mermen singing as one, beautiful choral melodies drift through the waves. But at the very bottom of this place is something disturbing, lots and lots of sea spiders, those creatures if disturbed ravage anything that comes near them like pirahnna, and not only that but they inject poison in to their victim and start tearing it apart with fangs and claws.
