HUNT RULES AND INFORMATION
Non-GM'd & GM'd
A Non-GM'd Hunting thread is where you and your team just go off and do some hunting together, or you go off and do it alone, it's entirely up to you. Once your thread is done you can get a stat member to read it over and reward you with items that you can then sell for Gil.
A GM'd Hunt are things you will find in the Hunting Marks board (Sub-board of the Notice board), this is where marks will be put up and people can go and hunt a specific monster or group of monsters killing others in their way. This sort of Hunting thread yields a few more rewards than normal and is more story based with direction given to the people on where they can or can't go.
Hunting Areas
In the world you'll find Hunting areas, such as 'Hunting Grounds (Plains)', 'Hunting Grounds (SnowFields)' and 'Hunting Grounds (Desert)', these areas that have the words HUNTING GROUNDS in them are open areas where people can hunt outside of towns and cities. Here you may start a thread and just rp your hunt out.
GM'D Hunts will be labelled with 'IN PROGRESS -MARK-'.
E is for Effort
Battle in your posts needs to be fluid. If you're doing a ten hit combo, we want you to describe each stroke, we want detail on it, where you aimed and the next strike it lead in to. If you don't put the effort in? We're going to give you less rewards.
How many attacks?
In a non-GM'd Hunting thread you can do whatever you want within reason. If the GM who judges at the end feels you went over the top or didn't put enough effort in by simply spamming spells constantly and not having any actual story or skill progression at all, they are within their rights to give you what they feel is acceptable as a reward.
In a GM'd Hunt you'll be allowed to use up to two spells/abilities and then a physical attack combo, the number of the physical attack is up to you but the less effort you put in the less strikes will hit. In the case of pure magic based classes we will allow three spells/abilities instead of two you will not however get a chance to use a physical attack.
All spells that have three tiers will have their base spell with two post cool down, all other spells have a cool down period of three posts. Skills have a three post cooldown.
Talismans?
In the shop you'll find talismans, these are so you can participate in GM'd Hunts.
Anyone can go on non-GM'd hunts.
Can ONLY be found on GM'd Hunts?
These items can only be found during a GM'd Hunt, usually as an end reward.
How to increase rewards?
There's a variety of factors that contribute to what you'll receive from a Non-GM'd or even a GM'd hunt:-
• Page Length (no more than 5 - 10 please) • Post length (if posts are a paragraph or less you'll get less rewards) • Skill (If your writing is fluid, easy to understand and nice to read you'll get more rewards) • Fluid combat (more -better- rewards the more fluid and detailed your combat is)
• Generally speaking if you write a 5 page hunt with 2 paragraphs per post solo and your skill is decent with fluid combat and story you'll likely earn around enough monster drops to get you 25000 gil. •If you're in a party this will be a bit less probably around 12500 gil each because you're sharing the earnings but it's also MUCH EASIER WITH A PARTY to hit the 5 page mark.
