The Elven woman had become an adventurer and with a small band of friends they proceeded to hunt with one another. Over time the archer woman grew to be loved by one of the two humans in the group. At first she absolutely refuted his advances but in time after he had proved his worth to her she was willing to commit and a relationship that lasted many years bloomed. From this Aoife was born. Their radiant bundle of joy, with this blessing the two settled in Ranoe port, the port town was bustling with people constantly and the place provided sufficient safety and a wonderful atmosphere for the small family. The father quickly landed a fishing job while his elven wife stayed at home and worked in a small green grocers shop. The now steadily growing baby girl was taught to love both humans and her own kind alike. That each race has their flaws and each has their strengths, not a single one is better than the other and racism or stereotypism wasn't a good practice. With this in mind the girl would start school, and yet she was the only one with pointed ears in her class. She was the only elf. Because of this she was bullied relentlessly because she was the odd one out. Yet her skills with magic far surpassed theirs along with her natural talent with a bow. She was quicker on the draw and fire, more precise and in due time the bullying stopped as that hatred fizzled out thanks to her eventually telling those who kept poking her off. 'Instead of making fun of me, first look at yourself and fix your own flaws. Then and only then can you talk down to me.' People learned to leave her alone. By the time she was eighteen she wanted to leave the port down because although yes she was safe here, she wanted more, she wanted to see the world. Her mother found it amusing as the girl was more like her than she would ever care to admit and gave the girl her blessing. For the next five years Aoife would spend her time honing her hunting skills in the Northern Continent in any way she could. She also found that she was quite talented at slipping gil from people she met, those whom she had no ties too at all. If she felt bad for them she'd leave them be but if they were a jerk? If they stole from the poor only to keep for themselves or if they were generally rude she would take quite a bit from them. She was in her late thirties by the time she returned home and she was sad to find out that her father was now getting on a bit. It was during this time that she decided to spend a few years at home. She spent the next forty years at home with her parents, making sure that they were cared for with the gil she'd made fairly and had stolen. Sadly her father died at the ripe age of ninety-seven. That tore her apart inside and she was now seventy-two not even half-way through her lifespan. Her mother on the other hand was coming towards the end of her life as well, being around two thousand years old she was happy to have had a daughter who was so caring and beautiful. She also asked her daughter to do one thing for her when she died. A funeral pyre. She wanted a send off that was traditional for the family and so Aoife agreed. Spending the next hundred years at home she would soon notice her mothers passing, coming in with groceries she went to check on the woman who spent most of her days staring at the sea through the window only to find the woman unconscious. Slowly she went over and tried to rouse her only to get no response and that was when it eventually hit her. Her mother had passed away while she was out getting groceries. It took a few days to get the pyre ready but once it was the young lady put on it photos and other things that her mother had held dear. Then at sunset the young elven woman star ted to sing, a mournful song, full of sadness and sorrow but with words that spoke of happiness and hope. As she sand she slowly lit the pyre and pushed it out to sea. She was the only one there. No one else, even though they were supposed friends never showed up. There she would sit watching the pyre drift out in to the distance burning her mothers body and belongings before it eventually started to sink. The whole time she sang until her throat was sore (her mother had granted her one final grace as the pyre sank the girl no longer had to sing and her voice was given the rest it very much needed) her eyes burned like she'd rubbed salt in them from all the tears she had cried and yet more would come for the next hour as she sat on the shore and thought about her life to this point. Thought about her father, her mother, her friends, her home, the people she'd stolen from, the people she'd given things to. She slowly picked herself up and with that she went back to making a living from hunting and thievery, however much more recently within the last ten years she actually stopped adventuring, instead opting to set up a Hunters Lodge at a Hunting Grounds. Here hunters could pass through and rest for the night without having to set up shoddy little tents that could easily get ransacked. It was also here that some people could procure other services. Entertainment wasn't something that people passed up if they were male more so than female, but sometimes the females would want for it too. A beautiful stranger to drink with and burn the night away with. While Aoife herself hasn't ever become part of the deal of a person staying in her lodge, she is the resident healer, there's a few girls and even men who work at this lodge, both as barmaids or barmen and to make a little extra gil on the side. The entire place has an enchantment upon it, so that out of hours activities cannot be heard from other rooms, couples can share a night here without fear of waking their neighbours and those who wish for a decent nights sleep before the next hunt can get it. Currently this is where Aoife works and lives, in the Plains Hunting Grounds. Other ACCEPTED Characters Made by Razz of KHR |
