Given his years as a black mage Zest has mastered a seal called Enochian, which gives him the knowledge to cast more powerful spells. Now that he is blind he is sense aether better, though the weather can be a hinderance, making it harder for him to sense. Summoner It was during his time within the coils of Bahamut that Zest learned how to be a summoner. using tomes which held long lost knowledge of the Allagans, Zest began to learn how to use this power as he continued down the coils, going deeper to the center of Eorzea. As a black mage he has access to a familiar or an Egi, Currently he has access to one summon, Ifrit. As he got to the center he was able to learn more complex spells. One of those spells, Dreadwyrm Trace, Allows him to channel the power of Bahamut, an Elder Primal, For a short time. However it is hard to control and takes a lot of magic to use. Now that he is blind it is harder to use because he needs aether to sense what is around him. Personality Zest has had many differences in his life, it is due to all of his experiece that he has changed over time. He is kind and gentle soul, preferring not to use his magic or forceful tactics. He is the type of man who prefers to wait and listen to both sides and makes his own judgements. He doesnt really prefer to follow or listen to others when it comes to chosing right from wrong. He is honorable and waits until the opponent is ready. That is to say that he wouldn't use force when it was needed, Zest has his ways to make sure he can protect or at the very least keep enemies at bay from what he is looking after. He wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn't mind hiding it. He takes a little comfort that after everything that he had been through he was still human. At least he wants to have his humanity as something he could hold dear. He is quick to give advice and his ear is always a patient one, no matter how trivial it seems. For him, he thinks it is the least he could do after all the death and curses he had brought to the world. He is the type of man who holds as much of the burden on his own. Preferring to let others lean on him than the other way around. He hates calling himself a resident of light and distances himself as much as he could.

He really couldn't remember who his parents were. He didn't even know if they were alive or who were they, all he knew that he was alone to fend off for himself against anything that came his way. And he did do just that, day in and day out he fought to eat and to drink, the only thing on his mind was survival. As he continued to get older he began to steal more things to make his life better for himself. He didn't care about the consequences, all he wanted to do was live. One day he got caught, the owner of a inn caught him stealing and gave him a choice to either live with him or be sent to jail. Zest took the first option and began to work for the man, doing manual labor in exchange for a place to stay and food in his stomach. He started to enjoy it as time went on, at the very least he was sure that he would have food by the end of the night. He wasn't sure why the owner of the inn was so nice to him. The man in question told Zest that he wanted to save him from the life of mugging and give him a chance to become something greater than that. The man began to teach Zest magic, the basics and the things that should and should not be done with it. He was interested in magic, something that can be created by the Astral and Umbral energies was something to think about. When the man said that he couldn't teach him any further he told Zest that if he wanted to learn what magic could really do then he had to go to Ul'dah for it. The man that took care of him for many years was now old and even then he gave Zest a bag of gill and a Staff with a gem on the very top. So Zest went on a journey to Ul'dah trying to learn what 'real' magic truly was. When he arrived to Ul'dah the first place he went was the adventurer's guild. He was then pointed to the Thaumaturge guild where he had to prove his worth. It wasn't easy but eventually he was given recognition of not what his skill are but what his potential could be. He studied in the thaumatrage guild, trying to better himself in the art of magic. As he continued to study he dived deeper into the art. He one day found out about ancient art, the art of true black magic And the magic to summon ceatures from the aether. He began to search and study the nature of Primals, beasts summoned by beast tribe. Together with a collegue he began to learn how to summon creatures that resembled a couple of the primals he chose to study. As he progressed in his studies as a black mage and a summoner his soul crystals began to glow with the more knowledge he absorbed. Zest would help a couple of his friends out with the war against the Garlean Empire. He helped along as he could, he heard some called him a warrior of light. However he didn't see that as a good thing, since people seemed to die a lot quicker trying to keep him safe. After the battle against the Garleans he begain his own research on the core of the realm. A place called the Coil of Bahamut, he slowly made his way with a close group of friends. Helping Alise trying to find out the secrets of the coil. It was in there that he learned the meaning of sacrifice. He had befriended and taking a young woman as a student. She was someone that could and would surpass him in terms of magical potential. He wanted to protect her. And during the last battle me took a hit in her steed. The impact of it made it impossible to keep moving so it a last desperate struggle he used his most powerful magic; meteor. pulling everything that he was able to muster he attacked his opponent but not without paying a price, the opponent also attacked and stuck him as he casted. Once on the surface he was taken to a conjurer to try to heal his eyes but it was impossible to do so. Whatever he was struck with it made it impossible to remove it and with is so did his eye sight. It took a few months but he was able to see by feeling the magic or Aether around him. it was difficult but slowly he got used to it. Once he was in his full senses he head to Ishgard as someone asked for his help. He followed a couple of old friends to try and rescue a minister that was innocent. And while they did reach their goal it came with a price. A friend took a hit for him and died in his arms. After that his attitude changed, he became more somber, he left the group a bit later and went to the cold winter winds to train. During the start of a blizzard it made it hard to see, he thought he was going to die but when he made it out he felt strange, if felt as if he was intuned with the world around him. He wasn't sure what that means but once the blizzard died down he found himself lost. He wasn't sure where he was. Midgarsomir didnt answer his call and he was cut off from the Echo so he couldn't hear the whispers of the Crystal. He is currently stuck in a small village out in the cold winter. RP Sample The ice cold tundra of the land didnt bother Zest, he couldnt feel it as much any longer. He had been traveling through the snows of Coerthas for a few hours, never stopping and never faltering. He had to get a better control of his new strength, He had failed before, he had failed numerous times before but the last one stung once again. He had lost an ally once again, how many did that make? 5, 6, 7 perhaps; he wasn't sure but now that he was in this new place he didn't care as much. The ice and snow felt right around his body, it was something that he needed to get in control of himself. He couldn't and wouldn't fall into despair. He needed to understand this land he was placed into. This ice cold land that was was almost empty. He didn't feel any real life around him no matter how long he walked. He wasn't sure if where he was going was the right way but he didn't care. he didn't have the layout of this new land. This place wasn't Eorzea, it wasn't his country. He could sense the uncorrupted Magic or Aether that surrounded him, while the land was bare almost dead the air was full of rich ice properties. He could almost see everything crystal clear, even with all the snow that was in fornt of his face as the blizzard went on. The warmth of the robe he had on was the only thing that kept him from freezing entirely. But he felt the snow started to lighten up. Once the snow stopped he finally reached what seemed to be a small village. Though village seemed too kind to be of any use. It was run down and almost abandoned. If it wasn't for the surges of life he felt around him he thought this was a ghost town. He couldn't stay out here like this. He needed something to warm himself up. He took his tome out and a quill. "Heed my words, My will creates your body and your flames will create my path. By your oath become one with my power and awaken, Lord of the Inferno: Ifrit-Egi!" With a burst of flames a skeletal beast appeared and his flames started to melt some of the ice around it. Zest started to take a few steps back. While he could not stay out in the cold for very long, he would need to find a way to make himself a shelter, he at least had a heat source that would last as long as he could take magic from the air. So unless he was in combat the Egi would be here a while. He sat on a boulder and took slow breaths. He would go to the village later. RIght now he needed to rest his feet from the long walk the took. Ifrit-Egi got close enough to warm his master but not enough to burn him. This was his new start in this strange world.
