Drake & Dragons
The Drake are a mixture of three different groups the Pact, Half and Gifted.
Pact
Pact Drake are simply other races who have a pact with a long lived dragon. When a dragon makes a pact it will give part of it's Aether (life energy) to the pact holder, this will grant the pact holder the eyes of a dragon and an enhancement of one of the dragons elements (since the dragon would have two), their canines become sharpe and their life span is changed so they can live as long as the dragon so long as they're not killed. When the dragon dies however they pass over their remaining aether and the Pact they become as sturdy physically as a dragon and excel in the element (they get the second element from the two the dragon had that they themselves didn't already pick) that the dragon used. When they burst in to a rage a scale like motif will appear on the holders skin, in a color that was the same as the dragons scales. However a pact must have been held for over ten years in order for it to be valid. The dragon must also have at least ten years of its life remaining.
In order to become a Pact Drake the person who wishes to have the pact has to convince the dragon to share it's power, that is by no means an easy task and a dragon must be willing to shed blood for the pact holder to drink. Upon drinking the dragons blood (the dragon must still be living) the pact holder will gain higher senses, sight, smell, taste, sound and touch and will live as long as the dragon does if they're not near old age, they'll also gain the usage of one of the dragons elements and an increase to physical and magical strength while their physical and magical defense remain the same. Nothing supernatural where the senses are concerned or anything like that but around five times what they previously had. The only races that can become Pact Drake are those who are mostly human looking as they have the physical capacity to hold the pact and sadly the only human looking races who cannot hold pacts are Mau-Tei, Felit and Lobo (and any races that are from other worlds that don't fit in to a race in Oephus that is applicable ).
The Dragon the pact is held with will always know their pact holders location, they are also prone to helping their pact holder if the pact holder has proven themselves to be worthy.
Dragons will often travel with their pact holders to keep them safe until the time that they themselves pass away or their pact holder passes away. If the pact holder dies before the dragon the dragon will simply roam until a new pact holder comes along. However if the dragon passes away before the Pact holder, the Pact holder will find that once they gain the Dragons Aether (life force) that their life span is increased by around three thousand years longer than what they would've had unless they've already outlived that in which case they'll have ten more years. They will however be able to shift in to a full dragon form.
At the end of this three thousand year life span (or the extra ten), the pact holder upon dying is reborn as a baby dragon in an egg and in being reborn they also bring their pact holder back with them from the same egg, as the Aether was of two souls it needs to separate and the easiest way of doing that is to simply give life through magic to both souls in order for them to be separate entities once more. After this transition however, the pact is nullified and no longer valid.
Half
The Half stand at around 7'0 - 8'0 for the males and 5'0 - 6'0 for the females and can live for around eight and a half thousand years making them extremely long lived.
The Half are simply half human, half dragon. They however always have some dragon like attributes, scales on their skin in certain places, wings, tails, horns, it all depends on who their dragon parent was. The Half are physically strong and are also good at taking blows because they're very sturdy, however, their wings and tails are their weakest point and to remove a Half Drakes eyes is to remove all of their magical/elemental power leaving them only with their spacial awareness and utter skill to fight with.
Half Drake are almost always inclined to a single element. This grants them a tolerance to the element to a point but not immunity, their abilities are also always elementally based towards that element. Even if they opt to use the sword and shield.
Half Drake are terrible at healing magic, status effect magic, archery and even any fighting style that requires speed. Due to their strength and often somewhat heavy muscles they are sluggish, this makes them good for using axes, swords and other skill based fighting styles. Strength, skill and strategy are what the Half prefer over rushing in and trying to rush out again. The Half will tend to use a mixture of their fighting style and their element, this is often to confuse an opponent and make the Half a difficult opponent to read.
As for personality, the half drake tend to match the element that they are born with. They do however make very protective, very loving partners and parents.
Most Half tend to hang around in Ikaros and Dratia Village and they are able to mask their appearance, glamouring themselves to hide their scales, and other attributes like their parents and simply seem human.
Oddly enough the Half have never been involved in a war or battle that they do not believe in as they don't see the point in fighting for something you personally do not support or believe in, convincing a Half-Drake to fight in your army is nigh impossible. This is a trait that runs throughout the Half Drake race as a whole.
Playable Half-Drake must be a thousand years old or younger, unless an elder star/elder heart has been purchased.
FCs for this race can be difficult to find, because of this we allow fully human looking FCs however, we will require that you state where they have scales, what their wings are like and what sort of horns they have to match their race (you may use demon looking FCs as these are similar in appearance) in the Notable Features part of the app.
Gifted
The Gifted are those who have been gifted a tiny bit of Aether from a dying dragon or Half. This offers them a few abilities. These people who are gifted dragon abilities tend to get a distinct boost to whatever element the dragon or half used and gain superior strength. They don't however get anything more than that and are seen as the weakest of the Drake.
Dragons
Dragons can live to up to ten thousand years, the older the dragon the more powerful they are, however for the sake of the fact that currently on this site members can only make dragons a thousand years or younger the description is based on that.
Come in a large range of sizes (they are VERY large though in comparison to wyverns). It seems that there aren't that many this is because they hide themselves in human form to blend in with the crowds.
Dragons tend to have broad, elongated bodies with a wide tails and necks. They also walk on all fours and are the largest of their family, the Wyvern being but a distant cousin who never seemed to evolve past a primal state. Dragons also have extremely large wing spans that can carry their weight, this wing span is roughly about six times the dragons length (3 times for each wing).
Although Dragons are very magical creatures and tend to have a small wealth of knowledge on the subject (When under 1000 years old, the older they get the wiser and more magically inclined they are, they also get bigger as time progresses) it's something they don't tend to show off. They do dabble in all types of magic however they don't really excel at healing magics only opting to know the bare minimum, so a cure, a cura and a revive spell possibly an esuna. Instead of concentrating on healing magics each Dragon has an element Light, Darkness, Wind, Water, Earth, Fire, Ice or Lightning and this element is its main element, this is the element that they excel in the most and have almost an immunity too, they then have a sub-element, something that's linked to their primary element usually. For instance, Fire and Water because they're opposites (the same applies to fire and ice), Fire and Lightning for they both cause heat, Water and Ice as Ice is an element that uses Water as a base, Wind and Water as storms often have rain. The mixtures are endless but the secondary element sadly offers very little in the way of protection and more in the way of a boost to the element itself.
Dragons will not however participate in anything that goes against their morals, they are very wise, very noble beings who will not attack people without any solid and good reason. There is the odd crazy dragon who cares not for the lives of those around them but they often have a reason for it, even then other dragons will oft be the first to strike those kind down before they disgrace the entire race.
As teachers Dragons are extremely strict at times (when something needs to be learned) and then very lax at other times (when something isn't really necessary but is good to know), they're also VERY picky about who they make pacts with or whom they gift abilities too as they don't want what power they have to be abused.
As stated above like the Half, they are often terrible at healing magic (knowing only the bare minimum as that's all that's really required) and have absolutely zero skill in the ways of status effect magic yet in a human form they tend to pick a single fighting style and stick with it, often you'll find dragons pick hand to hand or something that involves sword play, they'll rarely pick up a bow or firearm as they see those as dishonorable weapons.
It doesn't matter how powerful the dragon is, when in human form their physical defense and magical defense drop often dramatically as their form has changed and isn't capable of handling all of the magic and physical strength they had, to compensate for this they allow their defenses to drop and keep their high magical attack and physical attack.
Playable dragons must be a thousand years old or younger, unless an elder star/elder heart has been purchased.
Half-Drake in very rare cases will have a hermaphrodite child, however unlike their dragon counterparts (which never have hermaphrodites) they get this genetic fault from the other race they were bred from.
