The Qronoe (Crow-no-ay) Temple is indeed very active, it's full of monsters, the original inhabitants are long gone as these monsters invaded the temple and slew all whom lived there. Of course those who did live there prayed to their God of life and death for salvation but their prayers went unanswered. Hundreds of Qronoans were massacred by monsters on that day, many tried to flee only to get devoured or torn limb from limb and the only reply that the God of Life and Death had to give was that it was time that civilization died out. Their ways were backwards while others were progressing, they wouldn't even save themselves despite being able to do so if they so wished. They simply wanted their patron God to save them.
Sadly the inhabitants of the great Northern Continent dare not go within the walls or even try to get close to the Temple. They fear that the land here is cursed, that people who go there have a death wish. People don't support expedition parties to the Qronoe Temple, even if the scriptures it holds could be worth an insane amount of Gil. In the end this place is not for the faint of heart and if people dare to actually traverse the temple itself, they best be prepared to dodge traps and have a group with them for safeties sake.
