O sisters, let's go down Down in the river to pray
It was a shame to leave it behind; the wonderful forest teeming with life and corners that she had yet to explore. Aerith had arrived in Estrolea River’s forest just days ago. She fell from the sky; that’s what her friend Tuppo, told her at least. There wasn’t any reason to not believe him, but Aerith thought that falling from the sky was supposed to… hurt. From how she’d woken up just fine and chipper, the woman must have proven that belief wrong. Well, almost wrong. Upon waking, she seemed to recall… nothing. Just her name (“Aerith Gainsborough, it’s nice to meet your acquaintance!”) and that was it. Nothing else, just the first and last to her name. The moogles questions of where she was from, who one Oephus (“Huh?”) had raised her were left answerless, because her mind provided no such thing to supply them with.
The moogle, Tuppo, decided that she must have hit her head and had forgotten everything, and she was inclined to believe him. (“Oh my, how clumsy of me.”) So as a brave and valiant warrior of the moogle folk of the forest, he decided to ‘Take her into custody’ and led him to where he lived. Aerith was looked at as an ‘Odd human’ for quite some time, because her soul seemed to be so… pure, to the little group of moogles. Because of that, she was quickly immersed in their schedules and seemed to fit right in when it came to taking care of the forest.
Her first few days passed by, just like that. Taking care of flowers, learning about the forest and a few of its inhabitants, and equipping herself with something that fit better than what she had arrived in. It had been a shame, a part of her had hurt to abandon the pink dress and red jacket, but both were worn to the limit it seemed, and were falling apart at the seams. (“Having a fall through the sky will do that to things-kupo!”)
Despite her attachment to the forest, Aerith felt like staying there just wasn’t… right. The Ancient wanted to go out, see what was beyond the trees and meet people. Maybe find out who she was, along the way, as well. Tuppo seemed to not want her to go by herself and insisted that a brave warrior like himself MUST accompany her, and he did. Led her out of the forest talking her ear off about yummy Kupo Nuts and how terrible people were outside the forest. (“Don’t be silly, you haven’t even been out of the forest!”)
So the duo left the moogles home and headed out into the labyrinth of a forest.
Tuppo, waving his ‘mighty’ short sword around bellowed, flying ahead as some bushes started to shiver. “HIDE, AERIS!! I’LL TAKE CARE OF TH—“ he stopped, seeing a small fluffy creature roll out of the bushes. Its pom seemed to droop, and the brunette, steps behind him, let a wave of jubilant giggles escape her.
“Fierce little bunny!~” She cooed, kneeling down to hold a hand out to the animal. It seemed to scared of her, not used to seeing a human this deep in the forest, and fled the way it had come. Aerith didn’t look all that bothered and stood back up. “Next time,” the woman chimed, walking ahead of the sulking moogle.
It straightened up, puffing out its stomach and flew forward, making sure it was ahead of his friend. “Better safe than sorry! Never fear, I, Tuppo, the strongest of strong moogles, shall protect you!” He stabbed at the air with his sword, and Aerith smiled, indulging the adorable creature in what it seemed to want.

Vivi knew that he shouldn't have strayed from the River, but his curiosity got the better of him. While it was hard to check the time without having the sun in a visible position in the sky, Vivi felt like close to two hours had passed since he suddenly woke up in this forest with no memories of how he got there or any memories of most anything about his life. The most that the boy could remember names and that the people attached to these names were supposed to be dear to them, but he couldn't remember anything about what they looked like or why they were important. Why did the name Zidane Tribal hold a warm feeling of admiration and respect to it? Vivi wished that he knew, but he tried to push those thoughts away for the most important matter.
He was lost in the middle of this forest with no clue how to find his way back to the river. At first Vivi had been following the river and things had been fine. Then Vivi had heard some child like laughter coming from the direction of the trees and a sense of curiosity filled. Was someone actually living in this big forest? It certainly a big forest, but the boy really hadn't noticed any signs of life as he followed the river downstream beforehand. His mind instantly began asking questions as his feet seemed to take on a mind of their own and take after the source of the laughter. The most important question to him though was why exactly he had followed through on this whim.
Resting one gloved hand against the bark of a tree, Vivi took in a deep breath of air before he stopped walking around without knowing where his destination was. At this point the boy realized that unless he found some help he'd probably be lost for longer than he would have liked. With that thought in mind Vivi decided to take a short break before he resumed his trek with finding help as his first priority. It was such a shame too. This forest was actually a pretty spectacular sight to take in and yet the experience was ruined by just exactly how difficult it was to navigate. The first thing the boy planned on doing upon finding the first sign of civilazation in this place was to find an Inn to stay at.
It was at this point that the boy began to hear voices and not in the psychotic way. The boy couldn't make out what exactly they were saying from his position, but at the very least he could tell that it seemed to be a group of two. One seemed to be yelling at a woman named Aeris to hide for some reason. Was there a monster nearby or something? If there was a monster nearby Vivi was sure that he could help out with his magic. Gripping his staff a little tighter than before, Vivi wasn't sure how he knew he could cast magic, but it was something that felt like instinct rather than a pure memory.
Getting a few steps closer, the boy could hear their conversation with better clarity though he still couldn't actually see who they were. The woman, well at the very least her voice sounded feminine, said something about a fierce little bunny. Was that really the monster in question? No that was a silly idea and the boy dismissed it almost immediately. Loosening his grip on his staff once more, Vivi assumed that there was some sort of misunderstanding on the part of the first voice he had heard. Still the fact that he couldn't see them was a bit concerning to him. Maybe they were on the other side of those bushes in front of him?
Making his decision quickly as they seemingly finished talking, Vivi slowly crawled through the bushes with his staff in hand to get to the other side. Unfortunately the leaves of the bushes shook and shivered as he made his way through. The noise was maybe a bit too loud for his tastes, but there was nothing he could do about it. Finally pushing through, Vivi's glowing yellow eyes blinked as he took in the sight of a brunette woman and some strange floating creature with a sword in hand. To be honest he had thought that the vaguely male sounding voice would have been a bit stronger looking, but what did he know?
"Umm... I'm a bit lost. C-Could you guys help me?" Vivi asked a tad timidly as he looked between the two.

O sisters, let's go down Down in the river to pray
"Another-kupo?!" Tuppo cried as he spun around to face the bushes, brandishing his sword in that direction as he floated to the front of Aerith.
"Umm... I'm a bit lost. C-Could you guys help me?" The two looked on, Aerith past the moogles pom and Tuppo ahead of him. She put a hand on top of the creatures head, lightly patting it a few times.
"Hello!" She said cheerfully, fully intent on answering his question with just what he needed, "I don't see why not. Do you live around here? Tuppo knows his way around the forest quite well, I'm sure between the three of us we can get you where you need to be."
"Never seen this one-kupo!" Tuppo said while shaking the hand off. The little sword slid into his belt, and he floated down to Vivi's level to get a good look at him. Tiny wings beating behind him like butterflies, it went around, looking up and down at the tiny mage.
"Is that so?" The brunette trailed off, looking at Vivi with a curios gaze. She held her chin in her hand, tilting her head to the side in thought. "I'm kind of lost, too. Not from around here, I suppose you could say. Is that the same for you as well, uhhh?" Aerith paused, her mouth open for a moment as she trailed off.
After a moment of being derailed from her earlier train of thought, the woman would take a few steps forward and lean over to hold her hand out, "My name's Aerith! The moogle there is called Tuppo. I should've introduced myself earlier, my bad." With an apology out there, along with an introduction, she'd smile something mixed between reassuring and welcoming, all at once with other flavors of emotions.
"Tuppo is leading me out of the forest, but like I said, if you live around here I'm sure we can get you there, little one." Aerith waited there, pausing to give the stranger some time to say a few words of their own.

It took him a few moments, but eventually Vivi recovered from the shock he received at the moogle suddenly pointing it's sword at him. For a little while he was afraid that the floating creature was going to actually cut him down, but calmed down at the sight of the woman placing her hand on the creature's head. If she wasn't afraid of the moogle cutting her down then the floating creature was probably just trying to protect her from monster attacks. That thought was mainly what calmed him down though it did bring up the question of why he didn't find another way of approach. Perhaps he wouldn't have startled the moogle into drawing it's weapon if he had found another way instead of crawling through those bushes.
"Hello!" Okay so now she was addressing him. "I don't see why not. Do you live around here? Tuppo knows his way around the forest quite well, I'm sure between the three of us we can get you where you need to be."
"Wish I knew. I... woke up here with no memories to speak of though it really doesn't feel familiar," Vivi mused barely loud enough for her to actually hear his answer. He really hadn't thought about where he was from or where he planned to go. Clearly he had no memories of where he came from or who he was as a person aside from his name, but something about this place screamed that he didn't belong. He couldn't place his mind on what exactly made him feel that way, but it wasn't something that he could ignore. He really wished that he had more answers, but there wasn't much he could do about it.
Then the moogle floated down to eye level with Vivi and confirmed that the creature didn't recognize Vivi as a resident of the forest. The moogle certainly looked like it was a resident of this forest and if a creature that lived there didn't recognize him, Vivi really doubted the possibility of this being his home. Still that brought up the more pressing question of where exactly was his home. Sure he wasn't able to answer that question until he worked out a way to recover his memories, but still there had to be a place that he belonged right? The thought of having no place at all to call home was rather sad.
"My name's Aerith! The moogle there is called Tuppo. I should've introduced myself earlier, my bad." Now it seemed like they were finally going to deal with their introductions. It wasn't like he had forgotten to give his name per say, but rather that he was too busy trying to recall any sort of memories to give it out. Reaching up a hand to adjust his wide brimmed mage's hat, Vivi looked between the two of them as she introduced herself and her companion. They certainly looked friendly enough and he'd be lying if he said that her smile wasn't infectious. Though she probably wasn't able to see it under the shadows of his hat, Vivi found himself smiling as well and his glowing yellow eyes seemed to convey the warmth behind the smile.
"Umm... my name's Vivi," Vivi told her while he pondered tagging along with the two of them at the very least until they were out of the forest. "If you two don't mind, can I come with you at least until we get out of this forest? I w-wouldn't be imposing. I c-can h-help fend off monsters because it s-seems that I'm skilled with m-magic," He wasn't sure how he knew that tidbit honestly, but still he started to hold his staff as if he were to cast a spell in order to prove his point.

O sisters, let's go down Down in the river to pray
"Umm... my name's Vivi,"
“What a cute name,” Aerith mused aloud while she giggled a bit. “It’s nice to meet you, Vivi.” She lightly plucked the moogle out of the air before he started to float a little too close, the creature seeming immersed in trying to figure out what was under the hat. “Careful there,” Motherly—the brunette oozed the aura of a mother, and seemed to extend it to the both of them. Like second nature, Aerith was there and it was like her goal was to make everyone around her smile and be happy.
“Sorry-kupo!” He didn’t seem all that sorry, but by the woman’s prompting tone, he immediately said as such. Aerith slowly raised back up to her feet, keeping the moogle in her arms so that he wouldn’t go back to wandering around, and get himself into anymore almost-trouble at the moment. At least not in front of her—he seemed like the mischievous sort that would jump at the chance whenever he wasn’t under her very watchful eye. A wonder he hadn’t been eaten before they’d met, but luck might have played a big part in it.
Aerith was just as curious as Tuppo was, though. Vivi was incredibly small—what was a child doing out in the forest by himself, in the first place? There ought to have been some sign of a guardian, but there was no such person, and he didn’t seem to be worried about being separated from them.
"If you two don't mind, can I come with you at least until we get out of this forest? I w-wouldn't be imposing. I c-can h-help fend off monsters because it s-seems that I'm skilled with m-magic,"
“You can stay with us for however long you want, alright?” She dipped her chin down, nodding a bit as her eyes closed in another smile. “If you can help, it would be much appreciated.” Her eyes open to look at the magic, feeling a sort of change in the air. Aerith would clap her hands together and laugh happily, “Oh, that’s wonderful! I can use a bit of magic myself,” she giggled a bit, the materia that she had on her the source of her magic. “Healing and the like. Tuppo is pretty good with a sword, as well. So stick close and we’ll take care of each other.”
Another head rub was given to the moogle, whose wings fluttered a bit, “Tuppo will take care of the squishy pomless ones-kupo!” If he’d been free, he would have struck another one of his many poses in the air, but he settled with a loud voice and kicking his small feet a few times.
“That’s right,” she let go of the moogle and he spun forward into the air, the red scarf around his neck swirling in the air almost like a cape. He wiggled a few times and flew forward, down the path a few feet. Aerith watched him, before looking back at Vivi, “Shall we get going, then?” She turned and followed after the moogle, who had drawn its sword once more and was keeping an eye close on the sides. “We have quite a road ahead of us.”
“Probably the rest of the day, if we just take one break-kupo.” Tuppo added, letting Vivi know. Aerith already did, and had gotten over the pain her feet were going to be in for a few days after this hike of theirs.
“We’ll take one whenever you want to, though. Just say the word,” She said, making the moogle mumble about just carrying the tiny mage. It didn’t seem like they were going to leave him behind—Aerith had already decided on seeing him out, and Tuppo with his sense of honor wouldn’t leave someone to fend for themselves.
