Zayen

Playable Zayen must be a thousand years old or younger.

The Zayen or demons as some people call them look relatively human for the most part but are set apart by various aspects. They can range in size but never really grow over 8'0 tall and can usually live for up to or even beyond 2,500 years old, sometimes much longer, not much data has been gathered on how long they can actually live for but the oldest recorded Zayen was 12,000 years of age. The Zayen are considered to be genderless as they can appear to be whatever gender they want but they often prefer one gender and identify with that over the other. You won't get any hermaphrodite Zayen as they literally can change between genders so there's no in between for them.

The Zayen are set apart from normal humans and other races by their eyes most of the time, having either strange symbols for pupils (or no pupils at all), multi-colored irises or colored sclera. They are born looking this way but as they grow they can grow to be quite different. The changes come in when they reach about 500 years of age, these changes are usually one or two sometimes all three of the following wings (bat like), tails and/or horns or a sort of flame like glow either on them physically or just a general glow that they give off much like the fae but the glow/flame will match whatever element they excel in the most or are planning to use. This makes them seem rather strange. Sometimes they have an unnaturally colored skintone. Please note you will need THREE images for the appearance section on your app, one male human, one female human that looks similar (a gender bend) and one demon.

They can pick and choose to shift back and forth between their more human shape from their early years and their demon looking selves on the fly, however they cannot take someone elses shape or a different shape to what they themselves grew from (they can switch the forms genders still though) and will always have the eyes that identify them as Zayen. The demon shift cannot be held indefinitely and they will NEED to shift back eventually regardless of how old they are or risk killing themselves through too much aether usage, pure blood Zayen sadly do not have a staggered aether usage and only those who're far beyond the two thousand year mark can come even close to holding it forever. Sadly for the Zayen their sub-race that only has a single gender have the advantage where the demonic looking shift is involved as they find it much easier to hold and thus it takes them half as long, the reason for this is because they don't have two sets of genetics to deal with for a switch to a demon look.

Where fighting is concerned, the Zayen excel in magical abilities but have weak magical defense, they are commonly seen using the black mage, white mage and summoner style classes (though they tend to pick an element and their abilities will be stronger in that alone). They also can be seen using a form of the Mystic Knight where they will combine spells with a chosen weapon to increase the effectiveness of their attacks (however they then lack the power outage on their spells but can use a wider range). Where melee and physical fighting classes are concerned, the monk, ninja, warrior and dragoon are classes that they use very well. The Zayen sadly aren't very good at juggling two classes and thus will only stick to one.

It is said that the Zayen hail from the South East of the world map, places that have yet to be discovered at least in rumor this is thought to be the case but they can be found in a variety of places and have quite a variety of personalities.

There's also a sub-race of the Zayen, though the race has no name and they simply go by the same race name as the Zayen they are primarily born as a single gender and do not posses the gender switching abilities, they do however have a bigger advantage when it comes to a shift in to a demon looking form. They get it earlier most often at around 150 - 200 years of age and can hold it longer, sometimes they even decide that's how they want to look on a permanent basis. Those that can hold it for a permanent time however would have LOTS OF PRACTICE and are most likely over one thousand years of age. The sub-race however have a much easier time switching.
